The Center for Efficient Mobility (CEM) successfully concluded its 2026 Summer Internship Program on Aug. 3, following 10 weeks of hands-on research, professional development and collaboration.
This year’s program was conducted in partnership with the National Center for Infrastructure Transformation (NCIT) and the Southern Plains Transportation Center (SPTC), providing students with the opportunity to work alongside Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI) researchers on transportation and mobility-related projects. Each intern was paired with a mentor who provided guidance and support throughout the summer as students developed and carried out their individual research projects.
In addition to their research activities, interns participated in technical tours, attended research presentations and engaged with transportation professionals from across the institute. These experiences offered valuable insight into the wide range of career paths and research opportunities available within the transportation field.
The program concluded with a research showcase, where interns presented their findings to TTI researchers, staff, family members and guests. The presentations highlighted the interns’ hard work, technical growth and contributions over the course of the summer.
CEM extends its appreciation to the researchers and mentors who helped make the program a success, and congratulates the 2026 interns on their accomplishments. We look forward to seeing the impact they make as they continue their academic and professional journeys.
